Peer Review

Peer Review

In high school, we rarely did any peer review or any review of our own at all. At the beginning of the year, my comments were not as in-depth as they should have been on my peer’s papers. I mainly commented on grammatical errors or things that did not make sense to me. I did not offer suggestions to their paper or comment on specific things such as their evidence they used. As I read my own paper, I realized how important these comments were from my peers to see what I am doing wrong and what worked. For the next paper, I began to go in more depth with my comments, letting them know what parts worked where, if they needed more evidence or if what they had was enough. In the paper I chose to show, I tried to exemplify each of the learning outcomes in my comments. In their introduction, I used ideas and local comments to compliment his hook but also suggest a rewording of a sentence. A lot of my comments on this paper were focused on their evidence with the use of quotes, and the cushion around them. I suggested adding in more context after the quote to help with the purpose and transition to the next piece of evidence. There was also a lot of the use of local comments on my part. There were some grammatical errors and sentence structure that did not make sense.
